Trivia I guess?
I wrote a song in 2007 called “the cold grey sky” - it’s actually a little bonus extra on the EP i released a couple weeks ago.
I was talking to a friend to day when I remembered the following bits about the song.
I uploaded it to Newgrounds.com back in 07 - I was just messing with electronic music and put it up there. Since it was on the site it was free for people to use as long as it wasn’t for profit and they credited me. I had no problem with it being used for whatever. Apparently a lot of people liked it and it was on the NG front page for all of a day, so it got a lot of hits + downloads.
Some time thereafter I was linked to a video, or an AMV for anime fans out there, that was a funeral scene from Naruto featuring the song. It felt pretty… bizarre to see that I suppose.
That video eventually was eventually removed from youtube due to a DMCA complaint filed against it by the people who had the rights to Naruto in the US. The same song also found its way into the following:
1.) An emotional stick figure cartoon about a man’s wife dying
2.) An intro to someone’s anime flash on DeviantArt
3.) A 4-5 minute video of spaceships flying floating by in EVE Online
I also vaguely remember a video of it set to footage of scenery someone shot themselves of wherever they lived in the fall. The funny part about the last one here is that it’s the kind of imagery I had in mind when I wrote the song.
Just some weird tidbits about things I’ve done so far.
Tentative, but I messaged the team making the game. Basically they’ve been showing tracks to the backers to get feedback. The tracks were submitted and discussed by all of us who funded the kickstarter project. I figured I’d send them a few for the hell of it and they said if I gave specific links they’d share them.
They’re not in any official update yet but they might be posted on one of the next go-arounds. If it does I’ll post a link here. If you backed the project too show me some love!
I sent them three tracks from here: http://neonshudder.bandcamp.com/
Those were:
1.) Neurohexazine
2.) On the rails
3.) Juncture
I think they fit, but what do I know? It’s in the hands of the backers.
